Speak Life Day 1
Christ!
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly - John 10:10
Is Your Hair Thriving or Struggling? Let’s Get to the Root Cause.
Welcome to Day 1 of the "Speak Life Into Your Hair" 28-Day Challenge! Before we dive into hair care solutions, why not start with the ultimate foundation—Jesus Christ.
When the topic of Black women and hair comes up, rarely—if ever—does Christ enter the conversation. But if you’re a believer, let me ask you:
Should Jesus Christ be part of the conversation about Black women’s hair health, beauty, and wellness?
My answer? Absolutely!
Why Jesus and Hair?
Because true transformation—whether spiritual, emotional, or even physical—begins with Him.
With over 16 years as a Hair Care Professional, I’ve helped countless women dealing with hair loss, scalp conditions, thinning edges, breakage, and frustration. But I’ve learned that hair health isn’t just about products and routines—it’s spiritual, emotional, and deeply connected to the words we speak over ourselves.
Many Black women are battling:
Generational hair struggles (passed-down ideologies and trauma)
Negative self-talk ("My hair will never grow.")
Unrealistic beauty standards (feeling pressured and angered due to discrimination)
Despair and frustration after trying countless products with no success
But here’s the truth: If your hair isn’t growing, thriving, or changing, something deeper is at play.
The Power of the Word: Growth vs. Destruction
The Bible tells us in John 10:10:
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly."
Life in this scripture means growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death. If you see no growth, progress, movement, change, functional activity, or continuous progress than life, and that more abundantly is not working in your favor, this is an indicator that we are calling Jesus a liar!
Which we know He is not!
Numbers 23:19 tells us that God is not a man, that he should lie, nor the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Should the Lord Jesus Christ not make good in His promise?
Now, let’s reflect on your hair journey. In two words, how would you describe it?
💀 Dead & Destroyed: Thinning, excessive shedding, dryness, breakage, or stagnation?
🌱 Life & Abundance: Healthy, moisturized, growing, and flourishing?
If your hair is in a constant cycle of damage, loss, and frustration, something is stealing the abundant life God promised.
And let’s be real—many of us unknowingly curse our own hair journey. We speak defeat instead of life. We operate in doubt, comparison, and frustration rather than faith, care, and patience.
But it stops today.
When discussing the topic of black women and the health of there hair, here’s a biblical truth! If something is not growing, changing, or moving, then that thing is considered dead.
Psalms 1:3, Isaiah 44:3-4, Ecclesiates 1:4-9 and John 10:10
There is an extensive spread of hair loss and scalp diseases and disorders concerning black women’s hair.
A Personal Transformation: The Dangerous Prayer That Changed Everything
My personal journey with Christ radically transformed my life—including my business and how I help women with hair health.
It all started with one dangerous prayer:
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” – Psalm 139:23-24
That prayer set me on a path of true transformation. And as God stripped away everything in me that wasn’t aligned with His truth, I realized:
✨ Optimal hair health starts with Christ.
✨ Faith is the foundation for growth, healing, and breakthrough.
✨ Biblical beauty is not about worldly standards but divine purpose.
✨ Wholeness—mind, body, and spirit—is necessary for true transformation.
Day 1 Challenge: Let’s Keep it 100 & Take Inventory
During the 1st 21 Days of this Hair Challenge we must be brutally honest with ourselves!
Since this is a safe space for honesty and vulnerability.
LET’S BE HONEST!
Many people who call themselves Christians aren’t worshipping Jesus Christ of Nazareth! The Jesus of the Bible! The true and living God! The Jesus that was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities. They aren’t worshipping, serving, or even praying to the Jesus who nailed our sins to the cross and destroyed the works of the devil! The Jesus Christ who overcame death and made a public show of principalities.
AND SINCE WHERE BEING HONEST…
Flase teachings and doctrines have spread like wildfire in the body of Christ! And we must deal with this on Day 1.
You may ask Ash, How do you know? Or you may even say I don’t believe that to be true!
And my response is you will know them by their fruits! Matthew 7:14-23
I know by their speech!
I know why their actions!
I know by their belief systems!
I know because I was once that Christian!
Lukwarm
Vain
Self-serving & Self-seeking
Living for the world
Wanting to be accepted by man
Coming into agreement with doctrines of devils
I was once deceived into thinking that I could profess Jesus and say my body was my choice!
I was once deceived into thinking that because I believed the Lord died and was resurrected, that was all that was needed to be a Christian.
I was once severing another Jesus! The Jesus of my flesh! The Jesus that didn’t require change (which is repentance, turning away from the old mindset and habits)!
I served idols and called them Jesus. What I was worshipping was an anti-Christ spirit. Anything that doesn’t align with the Word of Gos is anti-Christ.
The only way to not be deceived is by digging into the Word daily and praying that dangerous prayer! “ Search my heart, O Lord and know my thoughts and see if there be any wicked in me, and lead me in the way everlasting”.
