Speak Life Into Your Hair Day 20
12 Body System
Understanding the 12 Body Systems
When we reflect on the 12 body systems that God intricately designed, we must take a moment to meditate on Genesis 2:7:
"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."
This scripture reminds us that we are not just physical beings, but living souls—created with divine intention, formed with wisdom, and sustained by the very breath of God. The Bible provides insight into how God structured the body, emphasizing that He is our Manufacturer and Creator—body, soul, and spirit.
When I sought the Lord concerning women’s hair health, He revealed that this was a physical condition that needed to be addressed holistically. Through His wisdom, we uncover the root causes of hair and scalp disorders—not just for temporary healing, but to be made whole.
"You formed my innermost parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well."
—Psalm 139:13-15
The Body as One—A System Designed by God
1 Corinthians 12:14 & 20 teaches us:
"For the body is not one member, but many... But now are they many members, yet but one body."
Every system in the body is connected. When one system is out of balance, it can trigger imbalances in another—leading to symptoms such as hair loss. Just as the Bible says:
"And whether one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it."
—1 Corinthians 12:26
Hair health is a reflection of internal balance (homeostasis). It serves as a barometer of overall well-being. If something is off internally, it can manifest through the scalp, strands, and follicles.
Understanding the Cellular Foundation of Hair Health
Cells are the building blocks of all living things. A healthy body begins at the cellular level, and healthy hair starts with healthy cells.
Proteins maintain cell structure and function.
Organelles carry out essential tasks.
Blood nourishes cells, including the cells that form hair follicles.
How a Perfect Cell is Made
A perfect cell requires:
19 essential vitamins and minerals
9 amino acids (building blocks of protein)
1 complete protein source
If one essential nutrient is missing, an imperfect cell is created—and that cell will function improperly for up to 7 days, leading to deficiencies, inflammation, and eventually disease.
The Root Cause of All Diseases (Including Hair Loss)
Cellular malfunction is at the core of all health conditions. There are two main causes:
Lack of nutrition – Not getting the right nutrients to support healthy cell regeneration.
Toxin exposure – Ingesting or absorbing harmful substances that disrupt normal cell function.
This applies directly to hair health—poor nutrition and high toxin exposure can weaken follicles, cause excessive shedding, and contribute to scalp conditions.
The Power of Nutrition & Detoxing
Since our body is constantly regenerating (3.8 million cells are replaced every second!), we have the power to heal our hair by feeding our body what it truly needs.
Toxins to Avoid in Food:
Artificial sweeteners (sugar-free products)
High fructose corn syrup
MSG (monosodium glutamate)
"Natural flavors" (often chemically modified)
Nitrates and preservatives
Lab-created additives
Artificial colors and dyes
How the Body Systems Affect Hair
Each body system contributes to hair growth in a unique way. Let’s explore a few key ones:
Circulatory System (Blood Flow & Oxygenation)
The circulatory system carries oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles, supplying the scalp with everything it needs to stimulate growth and prevent thinning.
The heart pumps oxygenated blood throughout the body.
Arteries deliver nutrients to hair follicles.
Veins return used blood to the lungs for purification.
Without strong circulation, hair follicles lack oxygen and nutrients, leading to slow growth or shedding.
Nervous System (Stress & Hair Loss)
The nervous system controls the body’s stress response, and stress has a direct impact on hair health. Chronic stress triggers hair shedding by disrupting the hair growth cycle.
Central Nervous System: Brain & spinal cord
Peripheral Nervous System: Nerve pathways that regulate bodily functions
When stress hormones flood the body, it prioritizes survival functions over hair growth.
Endocrine System (Hormones & Hair Growth)
Hormones are chemical messengers that regulate hair growth. The endocrine system produces and balances hormones that affect the growth cycle.
Imbalances in:
Thyroid hormones can lead to thinning.
Estrogen & progesterone shifts (pregnancy, menopause) impact shedding.
Testosterone (DHT) can shrink follicles, causing hair loss.
God’s Divine Design for Hair Health
Yes, the human body is a masterpiece of intelligent design. The fact that every organ, system, and cell functions together so perfectly is evidence of God’s wisdom and power.
"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them."
—Genesis 1:27
The raw materials of our bodies—our very DNA—come from the dust of the earth. But it is God’s breath that gives us life. No chemical process can replicate the divine complexity of how cells, tissues, and organs form and function.
Your hair is a reflection of your internal health—physically and spiritually. Because hair is made of living cells nourished by blood, we must care for the body at a cellular level and trust in God’s wisdom for healing.
